Exciting Hornets give city a lift

NEW ORLEANS -- Glum economic forecasts greeted the New Orleans Hornets on their return home after a two-year displacement caused by hurricane Katrina.George Shinn, the team's majority owner, said his accountants initially projected the franchise would run a deficit of about $20-million this season, but he was determined to do right by a city recovering from the worst natural disaster in American history, then hope for the best.
