PAUL MARTIN HAS SOME EXPLAINING TO DO

'On every street corner" — except in Strathroy?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 18, 2006

OTTAWA — Paul Martin said he would fight separatism on every street corner. He said fighting separatism was in his DNA. However:

Today in Strathroy, Ontario, CAW president Buzz Hargrove called for Quebecers to choose the separatist Bloc Québécois over the Conservatives (CP Wire, January 18, 2006).

'Paul Martin stood appreciatively beside the union boss while he said this" (Paul Wells, http://weblogs.macleans.ca/paulwells/, January 18, 2006).

If it's truly in Paul Martin's DNA to fight separatism on every street corner, why did he just stand there, smile, and say nothing when his lieutenant urged voters to vote Bloc?
