Hunter, Hunter is Amelia Curran's fifth album, but her first on Toronto's Six Shooter Records, the maverick roots-music label known for its stable of sharp, literate singer-songwriters. "I feel that I owe them my best, most-present hour," says the Halifax-based folk chanteuse. On Friday Oct. 16, during the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals, Six Shooter celebrates its 10th anniversary with The Night of the Shooting Stars, a concert at Ottawa's Capital Music Hall featuring most of the label's roster, including Curran. "It's a fantastic company, and I'm grateful that they're helping me out," says Curran. "I'll go wherever they want to send me. It could mean I'm the road most of the year - so be it."
