Angel Everett is 17 years old and in trouble. When his father throws him out of the house, he turns to his 30-something social worker Nicole for help. Nicole, pregnant and toughing it out in a troubled marriage, nevertheless, takes Angel into her home. But her good intentions may not be enough to help the underprivileged teenager. Differences in race and social class, plus the delicate moral issues surrounding professional/personal boundaries, complicate their relationship. When Angel begins to revert back to the street and his self-defeating patterns of behaviour, Nicole is forced to choose between her client's wellbeing and the future of her newborn child. Golden Globe award winning actor Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under) plays Nicole. Jonan Everett is Angel.
