Team America: World Police

The latest strange offering from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Starring a cast of marionettes, the plot concerns a squad of self-serving Yanks -- called Team America -- who battle terrorists and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il. The humour is wickedly sharp and the language is graphic. Despite the puppets, it's definitely not for kids.

Kinsey

A brilliant performance by Liam Neeson made this one of last year's most acclaimed films. Neeson is remarkable in the title role of Dr. Alfred Kinsey, a little-known academic whose research into American sexual habits labeled him both pioneer and pariah. The movie also works as a period-piece slice of mid-1950s America, most of which was outraged by Kinsey's infamous sex report. Laura Linney lends strong support as Kinsey's wife, Clara.
