Gotye, fun. and Mumford & Sons took home multiple top honours at Sunday night's Grammy Awards, while Toronto-born singer Drake finally broke his Grammy jinx.
Drake won the Grammy for Best Rap Album category for Take Care. He was given the award in the pre-telecast ceremony, during which 70 of the night's 81 awards were handed out. Drake had been nominated a total of 10 times for a Grammy in previous years without winning.
British folk band Mumford & Sons picked up two Grammys, including the coveted Album of the Year for Babel.
Indie-pop trio fun. was named Best New Artist and won Song of the Year for its hit We Are Young.
Australian singer Gotye won three Grammy awards, including Record of the Year for his heartbreak hit Somebody That I Used to Know, featuring New Zealand singer Kimbra.
Ohio rockers The Black Keys, formed by Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, also went home with three Grammys including Best Rock Album for El Camino.
Auerbach also won the prestigious Producer of the Year in the non-classical category, giving him a total of four trophies.
Jay-Z and Kanye West walked off with three trophies, two for their collaboration N****s in Paris and one for their song Mercy, which also featured R&B star Frank Ocean.
The night's other winners included DJ Skrillex, Adele, Zac Brown Band, Miguel and Kelly Clarkson.
One of the night's most anticipated performers, Justin Timberlake, made his long-awaited return to the spotlight with his first televised performance since he released Suit & Tie in January, his first new song in five years.
