TIFF 2012

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence make cute together Add to ...

At the Silver Linings Playbook press conference, Bradley Cooper explained that his goal as an actor was to get so deep into the character that he really felt what he was doing.

The unsaid thing at the press junket was it was clear that Cooper achieved that goal with respect to his on-screen romance with his co-star Jennifer Lawrence. Cooper plays a teacher who has a mental breakdown and, while trying to reconcile with his ex-wife, meets Lawrence, who plays a young widow.

The moment they entered the TIFF gallery Sunday morning, Cooper made sure to pull out the seat for Lawrence. (So he’s not only the Sexiest Man Alive, but also a gentleman!)

And with the first question (about Lawrence’s dance training), they bantered back and forth like close friends.

“I’m an extra bad dancer,” said Lawrence.

“You’re not a bad dancer,” said Cooper.

“Yes I am,” said Lawrence.

“No, you’re terrible,” said Cooper.

Everyone laughed. Aww, it was just like a gag-worthy rom-com scene. And what’s worse is that it was effortless.

A little later, Lawrence had the chance to rib Cooper. When a reporter asked Cooper about a song that makes him emotional, the Hunger Games star chimed in.

“He cries every time he hears Call Me Maybe,” she said as Cooper pondered the question.

“What?!” he said, as if awoken from his deep meditation on the question. “What song is that?”

Lawrence then half-sang out the chorus softly and chuckled “Apparently, he’s been in outer space.”

The director David O. Russell couldn’t help but comment on their relationship.

“These two had great chemistry and I really benefited from it,” he said.

If you love the pair, good news! They’ll be bring their cuteness together again for another movie, Serena, due out in 2013.
