In this mockumentary shot in Vancouver, writer-director Mark Sawers imagines a contemporary world in which men are going extinct and women rule, procreating by parthenogenesis and producing only female children.
He scores some clever points against both the matriarchy (women have achieved world peace but failed to invent the Internet) and the patriarchy (ineffectual male revolutionaries depend on the female state to cook their meals).
But the joke is belaboured and the larger point a bit unclear. Patrick Gilmore excels as the youngest man on Earth, a 37-year-old nanny who begins a shocking affair with his female employer.
