The two creators of Quebec's fertility comedy Starbuck have each won a $20,000 prize from Telefilm Canada.
On Wednesday, director Ken Scott and his co-writer Martin Petit landed the 2011 Guichet d'Or award.
The annual honour goes to the Canuck director and writer of a Canadian French-language feature film with the highest-grossing domestic box-office sales during the previous year.
In 2011, Starbuck took in more than $3.5-million at the Canadian box office, according to Telefilm Canada.
Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks Studios announced last month that it's revamping the francophone film with a new script that would set the action in New York.
Scott will also direct the remake with original producer Andre Rouleau of Caramel Films onboard.
Telefilm says the film will also be remade for France with Made in PM as the producer.
The 2010 winners of the Guichet d'or were the creators of Piche: entre ciel et terre.
