Monday July 20 to Sunday July 26

Four minutes, ten seconds: Words

The documentary Tig, about a very dark time in the life of comedian Tig Notaro, is sure to be very funny and very sad. Sharon Van Etten’s song, written for the film, captures a similarly beautiful, complex mix of emotions.

Three minutes, six seconds: Suicide Squad

It’s possible that director David Ayer’s DC Comics adaptation could be a totally passable super hero movie, and the trailer has promise. But no character should be allowed to say the line “Let’s go save the world.” Because, seriously?

Eleven minutes, twenty-seven seconds: Caitlyn Jenner

The former Olympian was awarded the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs last week. Her acceptance speech is a harrowing, gracious and ultimately inspiring statement dedicated to “accepting people for who they are.”

Two hours: Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

David Hasselhoff plays Ian Ziering’s father. Mark Cuban is the president of the United States. Ann Coulter is the vice-president. Sharks are flying around everywhere, obviously. Did you think the franchise was going to get smarter? See the camp escalate to complete ridiculousness with the premiere Wednesday.
