Ailing Adele cancels Vancouver show Add to ...

Fighting laryngitis, British singing sensation Adele has cancelled her Tuesday night performance at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver.

According to her website, Adele was diagnosed last Thursday in Minneapolis, "where doctors ordered immediate rest" and postponement of that night's show.

Adele performed Saturday night in Denver, "which proved too early a return to the stage," her website said.

On Sunday, she cancelled a Salt Lake City show at the last minute, and on Tuesday cancelled her Vancouver, Seattle and Portland shows, which had all been scheduled for this week.

Adele's tour is to resume Saturday in San Francisco. The postponed shows are being rescheduled, but no new dates have been announced.

Meanwhile, Burton Cummings cancelled his Tuesday night show scheduled for the Interior Savings Centre in Kamloops, B.C., due to flu-like symptoms.

"Burton is very sorry to be unable to perform this evening, but believes his fans deserve a memorable performance when he is at his best," read a statement from concert promoter Live Nation.

No new date has been announced, and refunds are being offered.
