Win Butler and Regine ChassangeHandout

The newest member of the Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire is tiny, pink and cuddly and presumably testing his vocal range between diaper changes.

Regine Chassagne and Win Butler, the power couple behind the Montreal-based band, have welcomed a seven-pound baby boy into the fold. Chassange gave birth to the boy last Sunday and so far no name has been given.

Confirmation of the new arrival came from Barry Mack, the pastor at Montreal's St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Saint-Lambert, who told the tabloid newspaper Le Journal de Montreal: "C'était un mariage à leur image," said Mack of the couple. "C'est bien de voir qu'ils sont toujours ensemble et qu'ils ont aujourd'hui un bébé. C'est un peu rare dans l'industrie du divertissement."

The rough English translation: "It's good to see that they are still together and they now have a baby. It's a bit rare in the entertainment industry."

Last month, Arcade Fire were in a New York studio to record tracks for the follow-up to their 2010 album The Suburbs, which earned the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. No title or release for the new album has been announced.

And the Arcade Fire family is expected to expand even further in the near future: Touring member Marika Anthony-Shaw is also pregnant.
