One also notices the earnest phrasing of the Mumfords, but Blood Song doesn’t gallop in the way the young shouters like to do it. Instead, the sounds are droned and the pace is dead-stop, with a lo-fi slide guitar twisting queerly in the background.

Two-thirds of the way in, things shift to an Appalachian howl before quickly settling back into the weird-scene blues.
