Toronto singer Charlotte Day Wilson.

Before the rain came and wiped out a few performances at the recent Field Trip festival at Fort York, the silken melancholy of Charlotte Day Wilson's voice floated over the grounds. The sun was shining. Things are bright for Wilson. With an EP scheduled to arrive this fall, the Toronto singer has a cameo on the upcoming BadBadNotGood album IV (out July 8) to go along with the pair of singles she has to her name. The latest is the bluesy, woozy soul ballad Work. "People come and go, but you should know," she sings, about steady diligence, "that I am taking it slow." The bet is that Wilson will prove to be worth the wait.
