Vancouver-born, Toronto-raised photographer Deborah Samuel sees her 33 pictures of bird and animal skeletons, now on view at the Royal Ontario Museum, as an opportunity for humans to "speculate on our own mortality [in a spirit]of curiosity and reverence." Titled Elegy, the exhibition is having its world premiere in Toronto, where it will run until July 2. Included in the showcase is a triptych of the sinuous vertebrae of a cobra. Ten images, including those of a Canada goose, anteater and wolverine, were specially commissioned by the ROM.
