CTV's hit cop series Flashpoint is coming to an end.
The broadcaster says the Toronto-shot drama will run its fifth and final season this fall. Production on the final 13 new episodes is currently underway.
Producers Anne Marie La Traverse and Bill Mustos say they want to end the series on a high note and give fans a fitting conclusion.
Flashpoint stars Hugh Dillon and Enrico Colantoni as members of an elite Toronto police force.
It debuted in July, 2008, on CTV and CBS, when it was the first Canadian series since Due South to air in network primetime on both sides of the border.
CBS later dropped the series from its lineup and it now airs in the United States on the specialty network ION Television.
Flashpoint has won 11 Gemini Awards, including best drama series, best writing, best direction and best actor.
"While the series is still at its creative apex, we've decided to end the series on a high note, and give those fans the satisfaction of a fitting series conclusion in our 75th episode," La Traverse and Mustos said Tuesday in a release.
