Out of the blue, she’s completely unable to understand the spoken word. The strange occurrence prompts her normally complacent husband Joe (Jake Weber) to question their marriage. The episode costars former 24 regular Rena Sofer as a linguist who comes to Allison’s assistance.
FASHION<br> What Not to Wear TLC, 9 p.m.<br> Hey, remember Mindy Cohn? Back in the eighties, the former child star was one of the most recognizable faces on television as the precocious Natalie on the top-rated sitcom The Facts of Life. Now 44, Mindy is still around and looking for work but her friends and family are critical of her “schlumpy” fashion sense. Style mavens Stacey London and Clinton perform their usual makeover miracle.
DRAMA<br> Blue Bloods CBS, CTV, 10 p.m.<br> Already one of the hits of the new fall season, this police drama starring Tom Selleck as New York police commissioner Frank Reagan has drawn notice for its unflinching plotlines. In tonight’s episode, Reagan’s hot-headed detective son Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) takes to the streets to find the source of a deadly narcotic that has already killed three teenagers.
MOVIE<br> The Skeleton Key W, 9 p.m.<br> Despite an impressive cast and solid production values, this 2005 horror flick came and went from theatres before anyone noticed. Set in New Orleans, the premise stars Kate Hudson as Caroline, a young care provider hired by a old lady (Gena Rowlands) to take care of her ailing husband (John Hurt). In her first days on the job, Caroline explores the couple’s creepy old house and discovers some unsettling secrets about its former inhabitants.
