FOOD Ice Cold Cash Food Network, 7 p.m. ET; 4 p.m. PT The ice-cream man cometh – again. Good, clean fun, this Canadian-made show’s format features comic actor Joe Motiki riding his ice-cream bike up to strangers in the park and offering them the chance to win cash prizes (and an ice cream!) for answering trivia questions. And for whatever reason, affable Joe has the knack of finding just the right people to take part in the competition. In tonight's first episode, he grills pals Melissa and Rebecca, who simply refuse to work together as a team. In the second show, he quizzes Ruth – the brainiest cheerleader you'll ever meet.

COMEDY Betty White’s Off Their Rockers NBC, CTV Two, 8 p.m. ET/PT The public’s love affair with Betty White just keeps on going. Tested to huge U.S. ratings in January, this new show finds the 90-year-old White setting a handful of her fellow seniors loose on the streets to pull pranks on young people, while hidden cameras film the hilarious results. Hence, in tonight's opener we have a dear old lady spreading her late spouse's ashes on a park bench and another handing out tickets to young whippersnappers for “makeup violations.” White provides the saucy commentary in between the pranks. Long may she run.

COMEDY Best Friends Forever NBC, CTV Two, 8:30 p.m. ET/PT Making its debut tonight, this comedy stars the talented Jessica St. Clair (best known for her role in Bridesmaids) as Jessica, a young woman starting all over again. When Jessica receives divorce papers from her stuffy husband, her best pal Lennon (Lennon Parham – all the women in this show use their real names) convinces her to return to Brooklyn and move back into the apartment they used to share. Pretty soon they're back in the bars and having a grand old time, much to the displeasure of Lennon's live-in boyfriend Joe (Luka Jones). The pilot episode is cute, but don't count on an extended run for this show.

MOVIE New Waterford Girl Bravo!, 9 p.m. ET; 11 p.m. PT Directed by Allan Moyle, this Canadian-made feature made the Top-10 lists of most film critics in 1999. Set in the windswept Nova Scotia coastal town of New Waterford, circa mid-seventies, the story stars Liane Balaban as the 15-year-old loner Agnes, better known as Mooney. Distanced from her family and schoolmates, Mooney dreams of escaping, but life in the small town becomes decidedly more interesting with the arrival of a tough New Yorker teen named Lou, played by Tara Spencer-Nairn. A smattering of grand Canadian actors – Nicholas Campbell, Mary Walsh and Mark McKinney among them – play the colourful locals.
