SCIENCE The Nature of Things CBC, 8 p.m. ET/PT Host David Suzuki gets very serious in tonight's edition of this venerable science series. The program rewinds the clock to March 11, 2011, when the northeastern seaboard of Japan was struck with a monstrous earthquake registering 9 on the Richter scale. Within a half hour, a massive tsunami slammed ashore, claiming more than 20,000 lives and wiping out hundreds of thousands of homes. The ensuing crisis at the region's nuclear plants had the world waiting and watching for months. Suzuki travels to Japan one year later to examine how Japan has grappled with the disaster trifecta – earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown – and the result is a revealing profile of a country still trying to rebuild.
