FOOD Pitchin’ In Food Network, 7 p.m.: Welcome to the great Canadian food trip. In this lively series, homegrown celebrity chef Lynn Crawford clocks plenty of air miles in her search for unique culinary experiences and the lady is not afraid to roll up her sleeves. In tonight’s first show, she’s in a Massachusetts bog to harvest cranberries, which are promptly used for a brunch menu. In the second show, she’s searching out delectable fungi at an Oregon mushroom farm, which isn’t nearly as glamorous as it sounds.Handout

COMEDY Whitney NBC, CTV, 8 p.m.: Remember Whitney Cummings? Around this time last year, the sassy veteran standup was being touted as TV’s next big comedy star, courtesy of this sitcom. As it turned out, Whitney, the show, wasn’t a huge hit, but NBC is rebroadcasting the first season all summer, presumably to prepare viewers for the sequel, due to begin next September. And all ratings aside, Cummings is a talented comic performer. Watch her reaction tonight when live-in beau Alex (Chris D’Elia) proposes to her after arriving home tipsy and guilt-ridden from a bachelor party. Priceless.Handout

REALITY Ghost Hunters OLN, 9 p.m.: Switching careers has worked out very nicely for Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. Before becoming famous as paranormal investigators on this popular series, both men toiled as plumbers in their native Rhode Island. Now in its eighth season, the show follows the blue-collar pair and their technical team all over U.S. in pursuit of things that go bump in the night. Tonight, they’re in Naples, N.Y., a city rumoured to be haunted by the spirit of a man who committed suicide a century ago.Gavin Bond

DRAMA Blue Bloods CBS, CTV, 10 p.m.: The acting wealth is evenly spread out on this popular crime drama. Currently filming its third season, the show launched in 2010 with most viewers believing the premise revolved entirely around Tom Selleck’s portrayal of NYPD commissioner Frank Reagan. As the series has evolved, however, the story lines have been equally shared among all members of the extended Reagan clan, most notably Frank’s tightly-wound police detective son Danny, played by Donnie Wahlberg. In tonight’s episode, Danny seethes when put on reduced duties after shooting a cop who failed to identify himself.Handout

MOVIE Cujo Spike, 9:30 p.m.: Described by Stephen King as a “big, dumb slugger of a movie,” this thriller scared the wits out of moviegoers back in 1983. Taking considerable liberties from King’s original novel, the film stars Dee Wallace as Donna, a housewife who brings her young son along when she takes her car to a mechanic living on a nearby farm. What Donna doesn’t know is that the mechanic’s Saint Bernard, named Cujo, has been infected by a rabid bat and has become a slobbering killing machine. Note: The movie has a happier ending than the book, but it’s still pretty unpleasant.Handout
