Victoria's Royal BC Museum unveiled its 2011-2012 exhibition line-up Wednesday at an event that included a live tortoise and a Queen Elizabeth impersonator.

The show Wildlife Photographer of the Year features 108 wildlife photos chosen from more than 40,000 entries in an annual competition organized by London's Natural History Museum and BBC Wildlife Magazine. It runs Dec. 16 to April 9.

Dinosaurs: Ancient Fossils, New Discoveries is organized by the American Museum of Natural History in New York and includes life-size cast skeletons of a Tyrannosaurus rex and Stegosaurus. The show will be in Victoria – its only Canadian stop – for four months, May 17 to Sept. 16, 2012.

Queen Elizabeth II by Cecil Beaton: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration features nearly 100 portraits of the queen, including a number of previously unpublished photographs. It runs from June 1 until Sept. 3, 2012.
