The Kids in the Hall.David Hawe

In the first of its tour-starting four shows at Danforth Music Hall, the Kids in the Hall troupe occasionally fumbled lines but otherwise roared hilariously through sketches dark and surreal. Here are four that floored.

Bridal Gowns In which the dubiously betrothed quintet had the audacity to wear white, and the pros and cons of wedding apparel – easy to hail a cab; awkward on first dates – were considered.

Salty Ham There's no ham like an old ham. Scott Thompson and Bruce McCulloch served up the classic suburban scene about a wife's overseasoned "voodoo pork."

Country Doctor Dave Foley was all funny bones as a blithe sawbones, while Mark McKinney slayed as the air-wraithing Grim Reaper.

Head Crusher Mr. McKinney had us in the virtual vice grip of his forefinger and thumb, with take-downs of the troupe members' post-Kids careers that were merciless, flattening strokes of self-deprecation.

Kids in the Hall, April 25 (7:30 and 11 p.m.) and April 26 (7:30 p.m.). $58.75. 147 Danforth Ave., 1-855-985-5000 or ticketmaster.ca.
