Cameron Mackintosh presents a new production of Les Miserables with staging and scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo
This is no dream: Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed revival of "Les Miserables" is being extended by six weeks.
Mirvish Productions says the nearly all-Canadian show is getting it's "only and final extension in Toronto" to Feb. 2, 2014.
The British theatre impresario revamped the show to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beloved musical, based on Victor Hugo's classic novel about the survival of the human spirit.
Since performances began Sept. 27 in Toronto, it has enjoyed wildly enthusiastic capacity crowds.
Homegrown star Ramin Karimloo plays the tale's woe-begotten noble hero Jean Valjean, while U.K. actor Earl Carpenter is Javert, Quebec performer Genevieve Leclerc is Fantine and "Canadian Idol" winner Melissa O'Neil is Eponine.
Tickets will be available to American Express card members Wednesday and go on sale to the general public Nov. 13. Mirvish subscribers were able to gain access Monday. Seats are sold through TicketKing, available by phone at 416-872-1212 or 1-800-461-3333 and online at www.mirvish.com.
