Actors Bobby Cannavale, Murphy Guyer, David Harbour, John C. McGinley, Al Pacino, Richard Schiff and Jeremy Shamos and director Daniel Sullivan are set to star in a new production of David Mamet's 1984 Pulitzer-winning 1984 play Glengarry Glen Ross.
The play, which was adapted for a film (also starring Pacino) in 1992, follows a group of desperate real-estate salesmen as they struggle not to finish last in an office sales contest. The drama gets an added twist when a burglary sets off mutual suspicions, recriminations, and confrontations. Mamet’s script, which he adapted for the screen, is noted for its claustrophobic atmosphere and its colourful language.
The show is scheduled to begin previews on Tuesday, Oct. 16, and open on Sunday, Nov. 11.
