Kevin Carmichael is the Report on Business’s correspondent in Washington. He has covered finance and economics for a decade, mostly as a reporter with Bloomberg News in Ottawa and Washington. A native of New Brunswick’s Upper St. John River Valley, Kevin graduated from Carleton University with a combined degree in journalism and political science in 1996.
He joined the Globe and Mail’s Ottawa bureau in early 2008, writing extensively about the financial crisis. Kevin was nominated for a 2010 National Magazine Award in business writing for a profile of Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty.
