Bring her finances... in the name of Jesus

Globe and Mail Blog Post

In the spring, video of Barack Obama's pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, appeared on line showing him railing against aspects of America, and the politician's presidential hopes were nearly dashed.

Obama had to fight off simultaneous accusations that he was a secret Muslim and a militant black American.

But what will Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin be asked about witchcraft?

A video on YouTube shows Sarah Palin being blessed in her hometown church three years ago by a Kenyan pastor who prayed for her protection from “witchcraft” as she prepared to seek higher office.

The video shows Bishop Thomas Muthee in the pulpit of the Wasilla Assembly of God church asking Jesus Christ to keep Palin safe from “every form of witchcraft.”

“Come on, talk to God about this woman. We declare, save her from Satan,” Muthee says. “Make her way my God. Bring finances her way even for the campaign in the name of Jesus. ... Use her to turn this nation the other way around.”

To her credit, Palin looks a bit freaked out by the whole thing.
