Royal Bank's Nixon wins award

Royal Bank of Canada chief executive Gordon Nixon has received the 2010 Canadian Business Leader Award, the recipient of which is chosen by the 34-member Business Advisory Council of the Alberta School of Business.
Past recipients of the award, which has been given out since 1982, include former Manulife CEO Dominic D’Alessandro in 2007, former head of Stantec Tony Franceschini in 2008, and TransCanada’s Hal Kvisle last year.
Mr. Nixon will address more than 700 members of Alberta’s business community at a ceremony in Edmonton in March.
University of Alberta School of Business Dean Mike Percy said Mr. Nixon will speak about the importance of teamwork, innovation and integrity.
