TD banker claims yellow jersey
Andrew Willis
Forgive TD Canada Trust boss Tim Hockey if he wears a yellow jersey around the office this week.
Mr. Hockey, head of TD’s domestic retail bank and an ardent biker, claimed top honours in a charity cycling event known as the CEO Challenge last weekend. As part of a two-day ride in the South Carolina hills with Tour de France star George Hincapie, the banker posted the top time in a three kilometer race up on of the Blue Ridge mountains.
The weekend warriors in the CEO Challenge included Mr. Hockey and a number of colleagues from a Toronto-area cycling group called Les Domestiques – a club formed to promote philanthropy, the value of cycling, and an active healthy lifestyle. Fellow riders in South Carolina included Peter Gilgan, founder of Mattamy Homes, and Phil Smith, head of domestic investment banking at Scotia Capital.
