I disagree with Madeleine Partous (Dogged By Cat Fights - letter, June 28) in support of Halifax City Council's proposed cat-trapping frenzy. If the trapping goes ahead, how many cats will be injured or possibly killed in the process?

The overpopulation of cats in general, feral included, is the result of human neglect. People abandon cats and refuse to spay and neuter - this while hundreds of felines languish in shelter cages.
