When did the Mike Harris whiz kids take over writing advertising copy for The Globe and Mail? Your full-page ad of Jan. 29, "Become WEALTHY enough to be despised," surely was thought up by the chuckleheads that ruin this province. It has that unmistakable odour of the Harris Tories, redolent of a sneering, condescending attitude.

"Think where it will take you." Certainly not down the path of compassion or caring or concern for your fellow Canadians, that's for sure. When did The Globe and Mail buy into the Tory philosophy that the pursuit of personal wealth is everything?

I cannot read or buy a paper that subscribes to such a mean-spirited, selfish, thoroughly un-Christian approach to life. This ad is despicable and highly offensive. Shame on you.
