Dennis Dawson has worked for his fellow citizens in the Quebec City region for more than 30 years.
He was elected school trustee for the Saint-Odile ward and subsequently became the youngest elected president of the Quebec City Catholic School Board. In 1977, he was elected to the House of Commons and re-elected in subsequent elections.
In Ottawa, he chaired the Quebec Liberal Caucus and was Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Employment and Immigration.
He held a number of positions in the private sector including one with Canada Steamship Lines. He went on to serve as a consultant and senior director of one of the largest public affairs companies in Canada and the world.
Mr. Dawson is a well-known personality in the world of public affairs and is a sought-after commentator. In recent years, he has appeared very regularly on radio and television, giving his views on major current issues in Quebec and the rest of Canada.
He is very involved in his community and has worked as a volunteer for several sports and cultural organizations in the Quebec City region.
Mr. Dawson studied political science at Laval University and Ottawa University. He has an MBA from Laval University.
