· Born in 1978 in Winnipeg and grew up in the Winnipeg neighbourhood of Transcona
· Graduated from French immersion at Collège Pierre Elliott Trudeau in 1996, serving as Vice President in final year
· As a student, active in the NDP and on local environmental issues
· Active member of the congregation at Transcona Memorial United Church
· Earned a Bachelor's degree with Honours in History at the University of Winnipeg, concentrating on Canadian Social History and the effects of gender, class and ethnicity on that history
· Third year of degree program was taken at l’Université Laval
· While a University student, worked as a guide at Vimy Ridge in France, the Manitoba Legislative Building and the Parliament of Canada
· Moved to Ottawa in 2001 to take a job as an Interpretation Officer with the Library of Parliament
· Left Ottawa in the spring of 2003 to teach English in Taiwan for the summer
· Moved to Montreal in September 2003
· Recently a graduate student of the School of Community and Public Affairs
· At present works full time as Grants and Fundraising Coordinator with the People's Potato Project Collective.
