Pierre Albert was born in Montréal’s south central quarter in December 1973. He grew up on Montréal’s South Shore and went to the Antoine Brossard polyvalent high school. He studied business administration at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and is currently completing a Certificate in Management at the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal (HEC). In addition, as part of his functions, he has specialized in the road transportation of people and goods.
Pierre is bilingual and began his career as a manager with Autobus La Montréalaise when he was 27 years old. This makes him the youngest regional manager of the Sogesco Group, which employs about 600 people in Québec. As part of his duties, he implemented several new systems for managing budgets and reducing green house gas emissions. These effective and powerful controls improved economic performance and dramatically reduced diesel fuel consumption. Pierre is very well liked by his employees, who admire his emotional intelligence, his professionalism and his exemplary patience.
When he was younger, Pierre was already active with non-profit organizations through his school pastoral duties. One organization was the Maison du père in Montréal, which welcomes the homeless each evening, providing food, shelter and warm and dry clothing.
When he was older, he worked as a volunteer for several events organized by BBCM Montréal. He was the Chairman of the CCCSC, which is a citizens committee.
Pierre has been involved in municipal, provincial and federal election campaigns for several years. With his professional background, he has extensive experience in the transportation sector which he could put to use for the people of Canada. He always keeps up with world politics and is very interested in the application of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He is an excellent English saddle rider, loves nature, fine meals with friends and reading. He lives in Laval with his spouse, Luc, their golden retriever, Poumba, and their Siamese cat, Belzébuth.
