John Baranyi, 43, is the Green Party of Canada candidate for Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington.
John was the Green Party of Ontario candidate for his riding in the last provincial election. Prior to that, he ran as an Independent in the last federal election.
With his wife Christine, he owns and operates Pulse Foods, a frozen health food company. He has also been a tree planter and reforestation contractor, planting over a million trees across Ontario. Additionally, he has worked as a carpenter and renovator, working on energy-efficient houses.
John volunteered for two years with a non-governmental organization, Plenty Canada, where he worked on soy agriculture and nutrition projects in the Caribbean. He also participated in a Canada World Youth Exchange program with Indonesia.
John was born in the Northern Ontario town of Elliot Lake and moved to the Lanark area in 1983. John and is wife, Christine, have three children and live in Perth.
