Jordan Katz was born in Windsor and has lived there except for a period of time spent living in Toronto and Orillia. Jordan has very deep family roots in the Windsor area and strong ties to the community.
Jordan's father moved his family to the Windsor area in the late 1960's to begin a home improvement business where Jordan was first shown the importance of customer service, value for money, and a hard day's work. These ideals became the cornerstone of Jordan's values.
Shortly after moving the family to Windsor Jordan's father brought several other family members to Windsor to help him run his business. In the Katz entrepreneurial spirit, these family members went on to start their own companies and are now successful businessmen. Jordan also has two brothers living in the Windsor area who have become prominent members of the community.
Jordan began his studies in Commerce and Economics at the Univesity of Windsor and left to pursue management opportunities at Casino Windsor. He later received a promotion and moved to Orillia to assist in the opening of Casino Rama.
Jordan's own entrepreneurial ambitions drove him to the culinary arts where he had planned on opening a restaurant of his own in the Windsor area. In analyzing the current economic landscape, it became obvious that poor taxation policies have placed an onerous burden on the small business owner. Jordan has instead chosen to direct his energies towards improving the economic and social conditions for members of Windsor West and across the country.
For many years, Jordan has been active within the Windsor Jewish Federation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Federation and has been involved with national programs through the Canada Israel Committee. Jordan has actively participated as a member of the Board of Directors for the Windsor West Conservative Party Electoral District Association.
