· Elected as the Member of Parliament for Windsor-West in May 2002
· Serves as the NDP critic for Industry, Science and Technology, Auto Policy, Canada/US Border Issues, and Canada Customs and Revenue Agency; also acts as the Urban Affairs Advocate
· Born in Windsor in 1968; raised in both the South and West ends of Windsor.
· Attended Sir Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in History
· Educational achievements include completion of course work for a Masters in Sociology at the University of Windsor, Personal Support Worker certificate from St. Clair College, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and other training in health related fields
· Elected to City Councillor in 1997, re-elected in 2000; representing the West part of Windsor
· Served on several committees including: Chair of the Windsor Ethnic and Race Relations Committee, Vice Chair of the Essex Region Conservation Authority, Vice Chair of the Detroit River Canadian Clean Up Committee, Planning Advisory Committee, Windsor Advisory Committee on Disability Issues, and the Art Gallery of Windsor
· Served as a board member for the Windsor Essex County and Pelee Island Visitors and Convention Bureau, Windsor Housing Authority, Riverfront Planning Committee, City Centre Business Improvement Association and Sandwich Towne Business Improvement Association
· Sat on the Board of Directors for the Canadian National Institute For the Blind Essex-Kent District and the AIDS Committee of Windsor and Essex County
· Worked as Program Coordinator for the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County operating the Multicultural Youth In Action Program designed to promote the elimination of racism and discrimination, while providing youth at risk the opportunity to gain employment related skills
· Worked with the Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities and developed the Opportunities Program working with more than 26 community agencies to provide an employment service for persons with physical disabilities
· Lives in Windsor with his wife Terry Chow, daughter Alexandria and son Wade.
