Anita Neville was elected as Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South Centre in November 2000.

In early 2004, she was appointed to the House of Commons Standing Committee on the Environment and to the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates. She is also the Chair of the National Liberal Women's Caucus and the immediate past Chair of Manitoba Liberal Caucus.

Ms. Neville has also served on the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration, and the Aboriginal and Northern Affairs committee.

Prior to her election, she was employed as an Economic Development Consultant for the Province of Manitoba. She also served as Director of WORKFORCE 2000, a provincial skills training program and Director of the Winnipeg Core Area Initiative Employment and Training Program.

Ms. Neville has worked on a number of community initiatives, including the Law Society of Manitoba, the City of Winnipeg Community and Race Relations Committee, and the Winnipeg Jewish Child and Family. As well, she served as a member of the Canadian Delegation observing elections in Bosnia.

Involved with the Liberal Party for many years, Ms. Neville was a candidate for River Heights in the Manitoba provincial election in 1995. Ms. Neville also co-chaired the election campaign of the Leader of the Liberal Party in Manitoba in the 1999 provincial election.

The mother of three daughters, Ms. Neville grew up in Winnipeg. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Political Studies from the University of Manitoba.
