Bill Caton was born and raised on a ranch in the historic Frenchman Valley in southwest Saskatchewan. Following secondary education in Maple Creek and Notre Dame Wilcox, Mr. Caton studied Fine Arts and Philosophy at the University of Calgary.

A lifelong rancher, Mr. Caton expanded the family ranch into a cowcalf to feeder, to finish operation in the 1980s. With experience in finishing and marketing cattle in Alberta, Ontario and Nebraska, he also served as a director on the local Feeder Co-operative.

His commitment to public service stems from a vision of developing an integrated policy approach that ensures that all sectors of the economy operate in a complementary fashion.

He believes that economic development is the engine that will support a comprehensive agricultural policy for rural residents, and is critical to small and medium size businesses in our southwest region.

Mr. Caton is also a proponent of inclusive representation in Ottawa with both corporate and public sector accountability a stated priority.

He and his wife Sherry presently reside on the family ranch with their children, 14-year-old Ceara 12-year-old Virgil. Personal interests include coaching little league baseball and maintenance of the ranch as a private wildlife sanctuary.
