Brian was born in Assiniboia Saskatchewan on November 18th 1945. He was raised on a farm where he learned the value of family and hard work. Brian has been married to Zinaida for 30 years, and together they are the proud parents of Barbara and Blair and loving Grandparents of Hana and Rachel.
Brian has been active in a number of service clubs and charitable organizations. His involvement at the ground level with many projects, including being chairman of the Nipawin Auto Spiel for two years, and serving as a trustee on the Nipawin Board of Education for five years have been very rewarding and enjoyable.
Brian has been active with the Reform/Canadian Alliance party since 1989. He was the Federal Reform candidate for the Old Mackenzie riding in 1993. He has served as a member of several Reform National Task forces including Criminal Justice, Democratic populism and provincial party involvement. He was one of the original 20 members of the Saskatchewan Party. He was also the first policy development chairperson for the Saskatchewan Party at its first founding policy convention. He also was an organizer for Elwin Hermanson's Saskatchewan Party leadership campaign.

Brian taught secondary school for four years. He also taught high school on a northern Saskatchewan Indian reserve for two and a half months while attending Law School. He began his law practice in Estevan and for the past twenty-three years has continued in Nipawin, Saskatchewan.
Brian is an avid sport fisherman and outdoorsman. His deep attachment to Northern Saskatchewan is most gratified while spending time at the family cabin. Curling is also one of Brian's passions, which he enjoys watching almost as much as being on the rink.
