Dog nose prints, kids’ fingers, oily heads resting against the windows and that haze of pollution built up on the inside of car windows frustrate me. I hate trying to see through that film, but what I hate more are streaks left behind from commercial cleaners. Wishful thinking had me buying what I thought would be a quick, sparkling fix.
I bought a canister of 25 wipes of a product that promised streak-free cleaning. It wasn’t an especially hot day when I tested them but before I had the front window clean, it felt like the moisture in the two wipes had disappeared. It took six wipes to do the inside windows of the car and I wasn’t satisfied with the results. “Streak-free” may be stretching it.
When it was all said and done, the six bucks were wasted. By the time I reach for the canister again, the rest will have dried out. I’m going back to a spray bottle with a vinegar/water mix and a few lint-free microfibre clothes. A little elbow grease wins every time.
