Black & Decker came out with its Matrix Multi Tool system a while back. The lightweight cordless power base fits different power heads, eliminating the need for multiple tools. This week, I added the air inflator attachment and banished the doghouse-sized air compressor to the shed.
The drill head pops off and the mini air compressor with 35 cm of hose clicks in place. Clamp the valve over the stem on the tire and push the trigger. Instant air. No waiting for compressing, no untangling of hoses. It's that simple. A pressure gauge on the hose reads in PSI and BAR to make life even simpler.
Within minutes, I'd worked my way through the garage – topping up six bike tires and eight auto tires. And even though the volleyball has been neglected, I filled it up, too, with the needle nozzle that hides in a compartment with the mattress inflator nozzle. I'm not the pit crew at the Grand Prix, but the pint-sized portable inflator is perfect for maintaining pressure in all my tires. And when we hit the highway for bike tours, it will be included.
