Volvo C30 plug-in electric Volvo's EV will come to California next year as part of a test fleet, said Stefan Jacoby, CEO of Volvo. Volvo plans to introduce a plug-in hybrid in 2012.
Honda Fit EV Honda showed a plug-in hybrid system designed to work with mid-sized and larger vehicles and also unveiled an electric version of the Fit subcompact. Interestingly, Honda has for a decade restricted its Integrated Motor Assist hybrid drivetrain to small cars. The Fit EV will enter demonstration fleets at Google, Stanford University and the city of Torrance, Calif., this year. Honda Motor CEO Takanobu Ito said the vehicle would go on sale in 2012.
