2007 Lexus ES 350

I bought a 2007 Lexus ES350 last year and shortly after I noticed the right-side headlight beam goes off after a while. I leave the switch at Auto mode, and when the lights come on, both sides are working fine, but after a while the right-side beam goes off. When I turn the switch off and on again, the beam's back on and, in most instances, it stays on from that moment on. I checked with the dealership and they told me to replace the lamp at a cost of about $400 for both part and labour. I'm not convinced the HID bulb needs to be replaced. Can you lead me in the right direction? – Raj

Intermittent electrical issues are a nightmare.

The first step I would recommend would be to swap the bulbs from side to side. If the left lights now behaves erratically, you know it is the bulb. If the right side continues to go out on occasion, you know the problem is something other than than the bulb.
