In photos: Bentley reveals fastest SUV on Earth
Bentley finally unveiled its super hyped, super luxurious and super fast sport utility vehicle on Wednesday. The Bentayga will come with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine with 600 horsepower and 663 lb-ft of torque. It will sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 301 km/h. That will make it the fastest SUV on the planet - just a bit faster than its cousin, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. It will also come with all-wheel drive and an automatic eight-speed transmission and weighs 2,322 kilograms. "The Bentayga is truly the Bentley of SUVs," said Wolfgang Durheimer, chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, in a statement. "It redefines luxury in the SUV sector and offers a genuine Bentley experience in any environment." Inside the Bentayga, there's handcrafted wood and leather throughout. The front seats feature a 22-way adjustment and massage system plus a full-length panoramic sunroof. "Bentley specialists individually select only the finest bull hides, all of which are sourced from cool European climates, naturally tanned and never over-printed," reads the statement. Reports indicate the vehicle will cost $229,100 (U.S.) The Bentayga will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show beginning Sept. 15 and will be available for delivery in early 2016.
