The little ghouls and goblins have returned to the lair, exhausted from a long but satisfying night of trick or treating. They are cleaned up and sent off to bed, dreams of pumpkins, Creepy Peepers and candy Rockets dancing in their head.
It’s almost Monday. Halloween. Time to settle in with the kids’ treat bags for a sugar rush that includes the scariest show on television, one where things go bump in the night, the screams are blood curdling, and the carnage will make your blood run cold.
No, not Paranormal Activity 1, 2 or 10. Fright Night? Fahgettaboudit. Christine? Lame.
I’m talking about Canada’s Worst Driver 7. The horror displayed on this Discovery Channel series is jaw-dropping. Eight of the worst Canadian licensed motorists you’re ever likely to witness are gathered together at a driver rehabilitation centre to compete in challenges designed to improve their driving skills. It’s the only reality show I know of where contestants don’t want to be the last person left. That maniacal motorist will, of course, be saddled with the show’s dubious title. And an ugly trophy.
It’s scary stuff indeed. Think about it. These are real people. Real drivers. Cruising along a road near you. Be afraid, be very afraid.
Hosted by the affable Andrew Younghusband, CWD7 made its season debut earlier this week on the Discovery Channel. You can catch the repeat tonight at 8 p.m. ET. Episode 2 airs Monday at 10 p.m. ET.Report Typo/Error
