While great deals on 2016 models are in abundance, there are some pitfalls to buying an outgoing model this time of year. Colour and option choices may be limited to whatever is on dealership lots as many auto makers have discontinued factory orders on 2016 models. Additionally, outgoing models may have already lost a portion of their initial value as new vehicles depreciate the most within the first few years.
Customers interested in learning about the future value of their vehicle should consult this free tool provided by Canadian Black Book. We used it to compare projected future values of the 2016 and 2017 Acura RDX with Technology Package and found the future value of the 2017 model is expected to be approximately $3,800 more than the 2016 model after five years, assuming both vehicles were purchased today and driven the same number of kilometres. This is one of the less obvious benefits of buying a newer model vehicle.
The good news is that savvy shoppers will find there can still be attractive incentives on even the latest model releases, including the all-new 2017 Jaguar XE premium compact sports sedan, which is designed to rival the likes of the Mercedes C-class and BMW 3-Series and 4-Series.
While the Mazda6 maintains the same exterior styling after a refresh last year, the 2017 model features notable enhancements in the cabin along with upsized incentives this month. The 2017 Mazda6 features improved acoustics from better insulation such as thicker front windows, better driving dynamics with more precise steering and response with Mazda's new G-Vectoring Control system, and available luxury refinements such as Nappa leather on higher-end trims.

2017 Jaguar XE
Standard features of the all-new 2017 XE include an 8-inch centre-mounted touchscreen (10.2-inch touchscreen available), HD Radio, GPS navigation and emergency brake assist. Cash purchase and finance customers can take advantage of a $1,000 manufacturer incentive on the 2017 XE. Financing for up to 72 months is available at 2.9 per cent and leasing for 48 months is available at 4.5 per cent (as compared to 4.9 per cent in June).
2017 Jaguar XE 35t Premium AWD

Cash purchasers can take advantage of a $500 manufacturer incentive on the 2017 Mazda 6 while lease customers are eligible for a $1,000 rebate (as compared to zero in July for cash and lease). Financing for 60 months is available at 2.5 per cent and leasing for 48 months is available at 1.5 per cent. Mazda customers may also be eligible for a complimentary two-night stay at one of 38 Canadian boutique hotels during Mazda’s Summer Escape Event with the purchase or lease of a new Mazda.
