A Toyota sits on a lot in Toronto.

Toyota Canada is recalling 56,211 Sienna minivans from model years 2004 to 2005 and from 2007 to 2009 because of a shift lever problem.

Due to the glitch, the company says, there is a possibility that the shift lever could be moved out of the "Park" position without the driver depressing the brake pedal.

This could result in vehicle roll-away.

In the United States, Toyota is recalling 615,000 Siennas for the same reason.

Toyota Canada says owners will be notified to return their vehicles to a dealership to fix the problem.

Further details on the recall are available on the company website.
