The Solar Energy Society of Alberta will be hosting its Drive the Future Expo this weekend, showcasing alternative fuel vehicle technology.
More than 50 vehicles will be on display, using electric, hybrid, biodiesel, human-powered hydrogen and solar power. Pictured above, solar panels placed on a garage roof will charge a zero-emission electric vehicle.
A $7000 solar panel rooftop system pays for itself from gas savings in five years," said executive Rob Harlan in a press release.
Some vehicles, such as the Tesla Model S, motor bikes and buses, are already on the road. Prototypes include a fuel cell race car from the University of Alberta.
The Drive the Future Expo takes place June 7 at the NAIT Central Campus in Edmonton, AB.
