Well, it’s about time.
The highly anticipated first 2017 Acura NSX production model rolled off the line at an Ohio plant on Tuesday – 11 years after the supercar was discontinued in 2005, and more than four years after planning for its revival began.

Rick Hendrick, an auto dealer, car collector and NASCAR team owner, bid $1.2 million (U.S.) at an auction in January, winning the right to custom-order the first NSX. He drove the Valencia Red Pearl Acura – bearing the VIN number 001 right off the Marysville, Ohio, line. Honda donated proceeds from the sale to two charities.
The wait has been a long one for NSX enthusiasts. Honda revealed a concept version at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and unveiled the production version at the 2015 edition of the show. The NSX’s first production run was from 1990 to 2005.
The 573-horsepower 2017 NSX is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V-6 engine mated to a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Acura Canada announced in 2015 that the NSX will sell for $189,000, topping out at $250,100 if all the option boxes are checked.
