A woman dubbed "Calgary's worst driver" has been located, charged with unsafe backing and fined $115, according to Calgary Police.

A five-minute video went viral over the weekend – it showed the driver of a BMW X3 hitting a parked vehicle, making a cringe-worthy 43-point turn and then fleeing the scene. The driver spends about four minutes trying to do something that would take an average driver no more than 10 seconds.

The video was captured by a video surveillance camera from a nearby business at a parking lot south of downtown Calgary. According to the caption on YouTube, "The man in the green top is the owner of the red car. He helped the driver of the silver BMW without knowing that she damaged his car before he arrived. She drove away without saying anything."

Calgary Police Const. Jeremy Shaw saw the video and Tweeted it, indicating they were looking for the driver. The video has been viewed more than two million times.

The $115 ticket comes with two demerit points, but there is no loss of driving privileges, police say.

Inspector Ken Thrower, of the Calgary Police traffic division, says this happens more often than people think.

"This one got caught on video, is this common? No. Does this happen? I'd say yes," he said, adding that drivers may panic if they are not the most skilled and many fender-benders happen in parking lots.

"I wouldn't say it's the worst I've ever seen," Thrower said. "In my 37 years of being a copper, I've seen worse."
